New Favorites

I have not posted in a while. Life has definitely happened to me! I am changing careers and I anticipate having more time to blog and enjoy life in the near future. I painted a few faces earlier this year and during prom season. I have posted a few of my recent faves below:

This lady had never worn makeup before. She was shocked at how relaxing it is to have someone apply your makeup, and even more stunned at her transformation. She said that she could not believe that the face belonged to her! That is the beauty of makeup artistry - to make others feel great and to show them that you see potential in them that they may not see in themselves. These days people get so caught up in treating makeup application as a competition to see "who beats the most faces, who is a beauty guru on social networks, who is doing makeup for the most celebrities". It is not about that at all! It is great to share your passion with the world, but art should never be treated as a sport.

I enjoyed doing her makeup because when she sat down in the chair, she told me "do whatever you want". When I asked her a few more questions, I found that she liked softer makeup so we decided on a subtle smokey eye and soft pink lips. She had never worn an undereye highlight and she appreciated the touch that it added to her look. We used MAC Pro concealer, which is my fave, and set with Ben Nye Banana powder.

This diva was headed to prom. She had already gone shopping for her own products and asked me to use the items that she provided. I wanted to make her look glam, yet age appropriate. I loved her final look.

This is another client who had never worn makeup. She was stunned at how flawless she looked after the application. She was headed to take family photographs and she was glowing! We used Graftobian HD as her foundation, another one of my fave products, because it has a range of colors, and it does not oxidize after long wear, plus it photographs well.

This was my final prom diva. I only had 15 minutes to do her makeup because her hair appointment ran over schedule. If you are ever in a rush or undecided about a look, a smokey eye is always no fail. It is glam, yet quick and easy. She was gorgeous. She had never had her eyebrows contoured and she fell in love with the results.
