This beauty was headed to take mother-daughter photos. She was already wearing lashes. We used colors from the Too Faced Chocolate bar palette as her eyeshadow.

Celebrity Inspired FOTD - Gabrielle Union

I love Gabrielle Union! Back in the day I played the celebrity look-alike game and Gabrielle matched as one of my look-alikes. I laughed about it with my friends and family members who told me that Gabrielle and I matched because we have similar facial features - heart-shaped faces, almond shaped eyes, and high cheekbones. That was the reason behind creating a look inspired by television vixen Miss Mary Jane!

On my eyes, I used MAC orange & rule in my crease.
MAC Clarity on my lid, with the blue emerald shadow from the Marc Jacobs The Siren 210 palette layered over top.
In my waterline I used MAC eye kohl in smolder.
Under the eye I used Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Mars

Complexion:
Kat Von D foundation in Deep 71
Mac Pro longwear concealer in NW40
MAC prep & prime highlighters in bright forecast & peach lustre
The Balm Betty Lou-manizer as highlight
Mac studio stick foundation & cargo bronzer in dark as contour
Nars Taj Mahal blush
Guerlain Kiss Kiss gloss in 864

I hope you enjoyed this celebrity inspired look. I plan to do others so stay tuned. Feel free to leave questions or comments below!

Marc Jacobs The Siren 210

I am so in love with my limited edition Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con no. 7 plush shadow palette in The Siren 210. I love the colors and I have literally been using it everyday. The color payoff is amazing, the shadows are pigmented, super smooth & creamy, and the possibilities for creating looks are endless. I received the palette in gratis as I am an MUA at Sephora. This palette is available for purchase in Sephora stores or online at Sephora.com.

Here are a few looks that I have created thus far:
I wore this look to a club during Memorial Day weekend.
I used shades from The Balm Nude'tude palette to create the transition shadows on my eyes.
I used Urban Decay's 24/7 glide on pencil in Mars under the eye.
The complexion is Kat Von D Lock it tattoo foundation in deep 71.
On my lips I am wearing MAC Nightmoth liner & OCC Lip Tar in Hoochie.

I wore this look to a party during Memorial Day weekend.

I used shades from The Balm Nudetude palette to create the transition shadows on my eyes.
I used Urban Decay's 24/7 glide on pencil in Ultraviolet under the eye.
The complexion is Kat Von D Lock it tattoo foundation in deep 71.
On my lips I'm wearing MAC Nightmoth liner & MAC Relentlessly Red lipstick. I had on a pink gloss before I applied the lipstick so please note that this isn't the true color.

Recent Favorites

I have skipped out on my monthly favorites post for the last couple of months. I have been trying tons of new things and there is certainly a lot going on in the beauty industry, I have just been super busy and slacking on my blogging! Please love me through it!! I have been loving a few things lately so here is a list of my recent loves:

Sephora Pro Contour brush #74 - I love this brush for multi-tasking when I am in a hurry. It is great for applying bronzer/contouring, applying blush, and applying highlighter. The bristles are dense so it picks up a lot of color. The handle is small so it allows for easy control. The brush is handmade and made of synthetic hairs, which eliminates shedding. I use it on my clients at work and I plan to add this brush to my freelance kit as well.

Algenist Genius - this is a true luxury cream! It is an anti-aging product that truly moisturizes without leaving the skin feeling oily and without leaving a tacky feeling behind. The cream boasts a pleasant smell without an irritating, over-powering fragrance. I would recommend this cream for anyone! Oily, sensitive, young, mature - I think this cream saved my dull, winter skin! I received it in gratis from Sephora, and it is available at Sephora.com.

Kat Von D. Lock It Tattoo Foundation in Deep 71 - I discovered this foundation earlier this year when I was matched with Color IQ technology at Sephora. This foundation matches my complexion perfectly. It is full coverage, and provides a flawless finish. It stays in place all day, lasts all day without fading, it does not transfer, and it does not oxidize. I absolutely love it!

Givenchy Noir Couture 4-in-1 mascara - this mascara is super black, it lengthens, curls, and adds volumes. The product also boasts lash care, including strengthening and fortifying lashes. This is my favorite mascara at Sephora! I love it and my clients love it. I sometimes wardrobe this mascara with my Lorac Pro mascara or with the Givenchy Phenomen'eyes mascara, but even alone Noir Couture owes me nothing! I received this mascara in gratis from work. This mascara is exclusively available in Sephora stores and online at Sephora.com.

The balm nudetude palette - I thought Lorac Pro was the must have palette for makeup lovers but I retract that statement to conclude The Balm's Nudetude as the palette to have! I can create a whole look with it and it also has perfect transition shadows for blending. I bought this palette based on recommendations from some of my favorite youtubers and they didn't lead me astray on this one! The shadows are creamy, pigmented, and easy to work with!

The balm instain blush in Swiss dot - Prior to purchasing this blush I heard awesome reviews, thus I had to try it for myself and once again the reviews were right! I love Swiss Dot! It's a great summer color. It is the perfect peach shade for brown skin girls, as peach blush is not always complementary for warmer skin tones. This blush is unique to my collection and I think it is a great blush for women of color. My only complaint is the cardboard packaging, which can stain easily when traveling or storing your it amongst other makeup. The Balm products can be purchased on their website.

Marc Jacobs The Siren 210 palette - I just made a whole post raving about this palette (Recent favorites). I love the colors and the pigmentation of the palette. It's limited edition at Sephora and I'm glad I got mine!

Boscia makeup breakup cool cleansing oil - On days that I wear makeup, I apply this cleansing oil before using my cleanser. It literally breaks up the makeup and washes it away with ease without leaving a huge mess. I think it does a much better job of removing makeup than the Josie Maran cleansing oil that I raved about a few months ago. It is definitely on my holy grail beauty list! I purchased this product at Sephora.

Fresh Sugar lip treatment - this lip treatment actually smooths and hydrates. It smells like a lemonhead candy and it feels great on the lips! I absolutely love it. I received it in gratis from Sephora and was super excited because I wanted to try it forever. Fresh products are available at Sephora.

MAC Relentlessly Red lipstick - Not quite a red, and not quite a pink. This matte lipstick is the perfect color for summer. I love pairing it with MAC Magenta liner but I plan to have fun pairing it with other liners this summer (see cropped photo below). I purchased this lipstick at a freestanding MAC store.

I hope you guys enjoy reading these as much as I enjoy sharing. Comments and questions are welcomed below.

Memorial Day Weekend

I love celebrating Memorial Day weekend by attending parties. It symbolizes the beginning of summer for me. In spite of the Texas heat and mosquitoes, I absolutely love summer and it is my favorite season! For Memorial Day weekend I attended a few parties and I attended the annual Omega Psi Phi boat ride.

Here is what I wore to a party on Friday:

Dress: Topshop
Handbag: custom from @legacythedesigner on Instagram and etsy
Shoes: Vince Camuto

Here is what I wore on the boat:
Dress: Asos
Flower crown: Shasa
Sandals: Target

Lipstick is MAC Magenta liner & Relentlessly Red lipstick. Complexion is Makeup Forever face & body in caramel 12 set with mac mineralize skinfinish in deep dark. (I typically wear dark but I have yet to replace it).

I know that most of my readers are more interested in fashion than beauty and I will make a greater effort to feature more outfit of the day/night posts. Thank you for your patience and continued support. Thank you to everyone who sends feedback on other social media sites as well. I sincerely appreciate every kind word and inquiry.
